I have recently started making projects on Pinterest. This was a couple different pins that I saw and put together to make my it my own.
Supplies needed:
*Canvas
(I used a wooden self that was on a small table we had, my son kept playing with it)
*fabric
*Staple gun
*Sticker paper for you printer
(@ staples)
*fabric paint
*small paint brush
* wooden stars x 6
(Michaels Craft Store)
*Hooks
(circle & open)
*Sharpie
*picture hook
(Lowes)
Step 1:
Take your fabric, I used white (your letter are going to be whatever color your fabric is) Staple your fabric to your canvas, with staples on back.
Step 2:
Print your letters in the front and size that you want on your sticker paper.
Cut out letters.
Step 3:
For the stars and the Eagle Globe & anchor (EGA)
Print them out on sticker paper. Cut out carefully, you are going to use the actual part you cut out and the stencil (which is the outside of the cutting)
Step 4:
Stick all your letters on your canvas centered.
Stick the stencil (outside part) of the stars and EGA. Run a credit card along all to make sure they are all stuck on well.
Step 5:
Paint the inside of the stars and EGA with your fabric paint (I used red)
Let dry a while before you peal up. Use an X-acto knife for easier peeling.
Step 6:
After completely dried, Peel your star stickers and put over the star you just painted with fabric paint. Try to get it lined up exactly. Do the same for the EGA. Run a credit card along all.
Step 7:
Screw in your circle hooks to bottom of canvas.
Equally aligned.
Step 8:
Spray paint your canvas the desired color ( I used blue)
Do a couple coats, the first ones very light, wait a good 5-10 minutes in between coats. Its best if you keep your spray can at a good distance. Make sure you do the sides of the canvas also.
Step 9:
Screw the open hooks into your 6 stars. Spray paint them your desired colors (I used red, white and blue) Do the same as above with a couple coats and waiting enought time in between to dry.
Step 10:
Peel off your sticker letters, stars, and EGA being very careful and using an X-acto knife.
Step 11:
Write your locations that you have lived on your stars with a sharpie. Install your picture hook on back of your canvas.
Step 12:
Hook your stars to your canvas, and your finished.
